Roman Polanski, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock. What do all these names have in common? Well, they are all male directors that appear on film studies curriculum. Alongside them is a plethora of recognisable names whose films have subsequently been dubbed classics, but I’ll give you one guess at how many of them are women.
